Dosirak Lunches

Kia Ora bloggers,

Yesterday we kindly got Dosirak lunches, if you are wondering, it is Korean food. First we got some soy milk and an apple. After that we got this little container that had 3 rice balls with some potato salad and glazed chicken with the glaze nice and sweet. We also got a packet of crunchy seaweed. My personal favorite was the glazed chicken because it was tasted just perfect.

Have you ever tasted Korean lunch before?

Swimming: Our 4th lesson

Namaste blogging world,

Yesterday was our 4th swimming lesson, we finally got to go in the deep pool. We first got changed into our togs then we got on some life jackets, the instructors also had to check if they fit properly. The life jackets were already wet, so they were freezing. Then slowly we got into the deep pool, it was cold indeed!

Now we got a big float board and pretended that it was a boat. One half of the group went on first, and that included me! The other group made small waves by smashing the water. Our boat tipped over!! Once we got back on again, we shouted for help like we were stranded. It was the other groups turn, they did the same.

Lastly, we got into partners, A & B. B would go in the pool and A would get a pool noodle and sit on the edge. B had to shout for help and A would hold the noodle but slide it until B could get a good grip. A pulled until B was at the bottom edge, then A would pull B to the top of the pool by the top of their life jackets. Once A finished, we swapped and A went in the water.

I really hope you have enjoyed reading my post

Talofa blogging world,

Gerhard came to our class again for Cyber Smart, and we learned about Copyright. We learned the 5 points of using others work, and the 4 points of fair use. Fair use is when you can use other people's work without getting permission, but you have to follow some rules. You have to use only a small portion of the work, make the work original, use the work in a completely different way, and you can't earn money from the work.

Here are the 5 rules of copyright:

My Maps

Kia Ora bloggers,

Today with Gerhard we did a cyber smart lesson and this time we used a cool map called My Map. My Map is a special map that lets you add different locations, and all you do is search up your locations
and press "add to map". Here is my map that I made with all of the schools in the Ako Hiko Cluster.

Collaboration

Kia Ora blogging world,

WALT: collaborate using google apps

Today during cyber smart, Gerhard came into our class (Room 8)  and taught us about collaborating using google apps such as google docs.

From the cyber smart lesson, I learnt how to use the suggestion tool. It will be really helpful for me because if I ever want to give someone a suggestion, it will make me say things kinder and more specific. I also learned how to use the chat button, this will also be very helpful to me. If I ever need to chat as a group but don't want to overfill the comment section, I can use the chat place sensibly,

I hope you enjoyed reading about my post. I would really appreciate it if you would give me comments for feedback about my work.

Matariki

Kia Ora blogging world,

In class we have been learning about Matariki and why we celebrate it. We celebrate it because it represents the Maori new year.

Here is a video about some things of Matariki:

We also read 2 books about Matariki and made a google presentation of what we learned from the books.

Hope you enjoyed, bye!

WALT: create a piece of art that shows examples of symmetry, reflection and rotation.

Kia Ora blogging world,

Last week we did some awesome art related to geometry. We created a beautiful creation using one certain fold called a kite fold, (it is called a kite fold because it looks like a kite). There was one rule to making the art though, you had to have 3 geometric movements, symmetry, rotation and reflection. Symmetry is where if you cut something in half and both sided look identical. Rotation is if you have a piece, if you turn it, it will be a rotation of that other shape. Reflection is if you have a shape, it is like a mirror and there is another shape.

Here is a screencastify of the three geometric movements:
