Mana Performance

Namaste blogging world!,

Today we had an extremely talented dancer at our school, Bernard Mangakahia, and he gave us a Mana Performance. Mana can mean many different other things, but it can mean when you are strong inside, which gives you more power.

One of his performances was when he used 7 hula hoops to make animals shapes, as he was spinning around and around. It was so fascinating! He did a lot of other performances too and they were absolutely mind bending and jaw - dropping.

Every single time he did one of his dances, he looked like he had a lot of courage in him even though he was dripping with sweat. He never stopped and continued to perform as good as it could ever get - and at the end everybody in the room including him were proud.

He even shared some information about his kids and parents, and some details about what's happening and how they're doing.

Here is a photo of him:

My Book Review

Kia Ora bloggers,

Before Term 1 ended, our teacher showed us this cool activity called a book review. We had to read 1 book, or if it's very long then 5 chapters. After that we had to write the details of the book like the author, title, who reviewed it, and your rating out of 5 stars. Then finally you get to actually writing the review. First you write about what happens in the book and what you found interesting. Next you write about the main characters and which one was your favorite. After that you write if you liked the book, your favorite part of it and why. At last you have to record who you think this book is suitable for.

I found this activity quite challenging because you have to think really hard about every single bit of the book and if you remember your reaction of it. Other than that it was a very fun activity,

Keep blogging and feel free to add any comments.
Bye!

Dosirak Lunches

Kia Ora bloggers,

Yesterday we kindly got Dosirak lunches, if you are wondering, it is Korean food. First we got some soy milk and an apple. After that we got this little container that had 3 rice balls with some potato salad and glazed chicken with the glaze nice and sweet. We also got a packet of crunchy seaweed. My personal favorite was the glazed chicken because it was tasted just perfect.

Have you ever tasted Korean lunch before?

Swimming: Our 4th lesson

Namaste blogging world,

Yesterday was our 4th swimming lesson, we finally got to go in the deep pool. We first got changed into our togs then we got on some life jackets, the instructors also had to check if they fit properly. The life jackets were already wet, so they were freezing. Then slowly we got into the deep pool, it was cold indeed!

Now we got a big float board and pretended that it was a boat. One half of the group went on first, and that included me! The other group made small waves by smashing the water. Our boat tipped over!! Once we got back on again, we shouted for help like we were stranded. It was the other groups turn, they did the same.

Lastly, we got into partners, A & B. B would go in the pool and A would get a pool noodle and sit on the edge. B had to shout for help and A would hold the noodle but slide it until B could get a good grip. A pulled until B was at the bottom edge, then A would pull B to the top of the pool by the top of their life jackets. Once A finished, we swapped and A went in the water.

I really hope you have enjoyed reading my post
