Hello blogging world,
This is going to, sadly, be the last activity for this whole journey. Now since I've learnt so much during the Summer Learning Journey, it's time for me to reflect on it.
The last 4 questions that will be the wrapping up for this are:
1. What is one thing that you learned from participating in the Summer Learning Journey programme this year? I have learnt so much that it is very hard to choose 1, but the most important thing was that I learnt how much we are ruining our planet by increasing air pollution and water pollution.
2. What is one thing that surprised you? I got surprised on how much I could really learn in the holidays, and so many things that I could do to protect the place around us.
3. What is one thing that concerned or upset you? I got really concerned AND upset when I found out about how many animals were endangered or so close to being extinct.
4. What is one thing that you (or your family) can do, moving forward, to help protect our natural environment? I will definitely try to pick up rubbish and convince people around me to stop using cars because that is one reason why air pollution is getting worse.
Well everybody, that will be the last activity for the whole entire Summer Learning Journey. It has been a privilege, being able to participate in this learning experience, and I hope you have too. Have a safe and happy holiday.
Bye! :)

Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 4 Activity 2: Adoption Day
Hello blogging world,
Omg, I can't believe I'm so close to finishing the Summer Learning Journey! For this activity, I am going to talk about other ways to help the environment.
Instead of talking about getting rid of plastic, or picking up rubbish, we can also adopt animals to help the environment. But adopting from the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) isn't taking an animal home, but you pay $55 to help buy different things for your chosen animal. I am going to choose 3 different animals that are up for 'adoption' and compare and contrast them.
Panda, Cheetah, and a Grizzly Bear Compare and Contrast.
Similarities:
They are all mammals, which mean they all give birth to babies - they don't lay eggs
Differences:
A panda isn't active and sporty, while the cheetah can run extremely fast. The grizzly bear lives in a different habitat than the cheetah and panda.
I would most like to adopt the panda, and pay the $55 fee because I really want this animal to survive, as it is so cute and has done no harm.
I hope you've enjoyed reading my blog post about 'adopting animals'. Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback or if you have any questions, please ask. What animal would you adopt? Tell me in the comments.

Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 5 Activity 1: World Environment Day
Hola bloggers,
In June, people celebrate a celebration called World Environment Day. On this day, we do whatever we can to protect and preserve our environment. This year (2018-2019) the focus is reducing plastic bags and other kinds of plastic.
Here are 3 things I can do to protect the environment:
1. Pick up rubbish and don't ever let my rubbish go anywhere but the bin
2. Grow different crops and veges in our garden to prevent pollution
3. Try our hardest to not use cars and use the feet that we were gifted with
I'm sorry that this is quite a small post, there is nothing much to it though.
I hope you've enjoyed reading my blog post about World Environment Day. Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback or if you have any questions, please ask. What can you do to protect the environment? Tell me in the comments.

Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 4 Activity 3: Restricted Access
Hello fellow bloggers,
Mostly throughout this week we are revolving around NZ and what happens here, and what people are doing here. But now let's get out of our normal zone and talk about something from another country.
Machu Picchu is an extremely ancient city which was built up in mountains which real people used to live in. It lies in Peru, South America, which means you have to take trains and lots of walking trips to reach this place successfully.
Over many decades, thousands of tourists have made the journey to go to Machu Picchu, but this has had a negative impact on the area. It has damaged the area to the point to where the government has made a specific limit on how many tourists are allowed to go every year. Lots of tourists get frustrated and sad that they don't get to go because of this.
I am going to share my opinion on why I think of this.
I think that this is an absolutely mature and good decision to protect this city. Many people over more decades to come, might hear about Machu Picchu, and get mad that people have ruined it in the past, and didn't preserve it for people in the future. I really agree with the fact that the limit is going to restrict tourists because it shows that people really want to protect the ancient city that had been built so long ago, and proves to people how all of these ancient stories are real.
I hope you've enjoyed reading my blog post about Machu Picchu. Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback or if you have any questions, please ask. What is your opinion on restricting numbers? Tell me in the comments.

Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 4 Activity 2: The Plastic Pledge
Kia Ora blogging world,
Over many years which have passed by, NZ naturaly beautiful beaches have been used to throw rubbish, also known as a dumping ground. 80% of this rubbish is plastic waste!!!
Many, many companies have heard if this problem, but only a couple take action after it. Countdown is a really good example of taking part. They have stopped providing plastic bags, and have also given out super affordable bags which are made out of a material which isn't bad for the environment.
Here is my opinion on this topic, and a couple of my family members:
ME 🙋 :
I personally think this was a very thoughtful decision for many Countdown stores to do because a little change in our lives, can dramatically change what happens in our future. Other stores like The Warehouse and New World should also follow in Countdowns footsteps and stop using plastic bags.
Mum:
I definitely think that Countdown did the right decision because marine animals such as whales and turtles are dying because of this plastic. You have to blame humans because we are the only animals which use plastic waste.
Little brother (hpsvitaraagj.blogspot.co.nz):
I think that it's good that they stopped using plastic bags because lots of plastic is going in the environment and it takes about 1000 years to make plastic bags rot into the soil. When it goes into the Earth, it is very bad for the plant eco-system.
I hope you've enjoyed reading my blog post about banning plastic bags. Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback or if you have any questions, please ask. What is your opinion on plastic bags? Tell me in the comments.

Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 4 Activity 1: Campaigning for Conservation
Ni Hao bloggers,
As I've said thousands of times before, NZ is a beautiful home for beautiful animals and species. There is an organisation called The Forest and Bird, and they are one of those companies which are working hard to inform people about this animal extinction issue, and also work hard to get the numbers back up again. If you didn't know already, these kinds of companies who earn money are called campaigns.
I am going to go on the Forest and Bird website and find a campaign I am interested in. Then I am going to make a slogan for this company, imagining that the company sponsored me to make their slogan.
The world gave it, so save it
I chose this campaign because I am very fond of it. It is the native wildlife campaign on the website of the Forest and Bird. People have to put more attention on the real world, rather than gadgets and social media platforms which distract us from the real environment we're in.
I hope you've enjoyed reading my blog post about this slogan I created. Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback or if you have any questions, please ask. What slogan would you make for the native wildlife? Tell me in the comments.
