Hello blogging world,
This is going to, sadly, be the last activity for this whole journey. Now since I've learnt so much during the Summer Learning Journey, it's time for me to reflect on it.
The last 4 questions that will be the wrapping up for this are:
1. What is one thing that you learned from participating in the Summer Learning Journey programme this year? I have learnt so much that it is very hard to choose 1, but the most important thing was that I learnt how much we are ruining our planet by increasing air pollution and water pollution.
2. What is one thing that surprised you? I got surprised on how much I could really learn in the holidays, and so many things that I could do to protect the place around us.
3. What is one thing that concerned or upset you? I got really concerned AND upset when I found out about how many animals were endangered or so close to being extinct.
4. What is one thing that you (or your family) can do, moving forward, to help protect our natural environment? I will definitely try to pick up rubbish and convince people around me to stop using cars because that is one reason why air pollution is getting worse.
Well everybody, that will be the last activity for the whole entire Summer Learning Journey. It has been a privilege, being able to participate in this learning experience, and I hope you have too. Have a safe and happy holiday.
Bye! :)

Kia ora Gargee,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, congratulations on completing all 60 activities in the Summer Learning Journey. You have put in so much time and effort into completing your activities which can be seen in the high standard of work you have been posting. They have been so great that I have been sharing some of your activities on my Google plus profile with other teachers and educators. They have all been amazed. I am so extremely proud of you and have loved watching you fly through the programme. I cannot wait to see you when I return to Hay Park School to congratulate you in person.
Second of all, what a great post you have uploaded to finish your journey. Your reflection is wonderful and I am so pleased that you have enjoyed learning new information over the summer holidays. I am surprised at how much you and your classmates have engaged in the programme and all the new information. It has been wonderful to see.
Encouraging others to limited the amount of times they use their car is a wonderful idea. I think I need to take a piece of your advice as I use mine far too much. If you can remember back to the first activity of the SLJ, one of the facts was that New Zealand has the highest car ownership rate. Which means we have far too many cars in our small slice of paradise.
Do forget to head over to other students blogs and comment on their work. I will be following your progress and awarding points to every comment that you make.
Once again, congratulations Gargee, I am so proud of you.
Well done,
Megan :)

ReplyDeleteIt is a privilege to have the opportunity to comment on this final post for the Summer Learning Journey programme of 2018-2019. You have done an outstanding job with the SLJ this summer. I know that both Megan and Cia have been blown away by your effort and you consistent, hardworking approach to the programme. We have all followed your blogs with interest and will continue to read your work and post comments over the coming weeks.
We hope that you'll have the chance to share all that you have learned with your family and friends (and with your teachers and classmates when you return to school next month)! There really is so much to know and so much to learn about the world around us, isn't there?
We hope that you'll consider continuing with the journey over the coming weeks by posting comments on the blogs of other students who are still working on the programme. You can find links to their blog sites here:https://sites.google.com/a/manaiakalani.org/connected-learners-share/sljtwitterfeeds
Wishing you all the best for the rest of your summer!
