Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 5 Activity 1: World Environment Day

Hola bloggers,
In June, people celebrate a celebration called World Environment Day. On this day, we do whatever we can to protect and preserve our environment. This year (2018-2019) the focus is reducing plastic bags and other kinds of plastic.

Here are 3 things I can do to protect the environment:

1. Pick up rubbish and don't ever let my rubbish go anywhere but the bin
2. Grow different crops and veges in our garden to prevent pollution
3. Try our hardest to not use cars and use the feet that we were gifted with

I'm sorry that this is quite a small post, there is nothing much to it though.

I hope you've enjoyed reading my blog post about World Environment Day. Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback or if you have any questions, please ask. What can you do to protect the environment? Tell me in the comments.

Blog you later!

  1. Hey Gargee,

It's Amanda here from Edmund Hillary School, your three things you have listed to save the environment would totally protect the environment if more people took more notice of the environment slowly suffering because of our doings.

But your last one "Try our hardest to not use cars and use the feet that we were gifted with" really got to me! I mean I agree with you that we should use our feet a lot more to avoid more carbon dioxide destroying the environment.

I'd do anything I can do to protect then environment of course but I'd want to get the word out to those who doesn't realize what damage we are doing...

It's been fun blogging during the holidays right?

    Amanda

  2. Hello Gargee,

Every one of your ideas are great, I personally favor the second one. Mainly because I think gardening and growing your own food would be so much better.

    Keep it up!

I love every single one of your ideas I would have to agree on all of them the one that really blew me away is the third one. I will be sure to use some of these tips.

Maybe you could have added a picture or two but I love all the detail you have added.

Anyways keep up the amazing work

  4. Hi Gargee,

It's Leslie here, writing to you as a member of the Summer Learning Journey team, from my home in wintry Canada. I'm blogging in my day-time which is your night-time so not only is our season the opposite of yours in New Zealand, our time zones are completely different too. Amazing that we can participate in the same program, isn't it??

I think your ideas are super as to how to improve how we impact on the earth. I particularly like your suggestion that we walk, rather than drive a car, as much as possible. If everyone did so that would dramatically reduce the amount of fossil fuel we use, and the pollution we contribute to the air.
My husband and I try to do our errands in town by walking. We're fortunate that we live very close to a grocery store, a pharmacy, our public library and other places that we frequently need to visit. The upside of walking is that it not only helps reduce our impact, it also improves our personal health - a win/win!!

I hope you're getting lots of time outside having fun on your summer holidays. And I'll continue to enjoy reading your blog.

    Cheers,

    Leslie

  5. Hey Gargee,

Congratulations on finishing the SLJ programme, you are amazing. Your different solutions about how to protect the environment were some excellent choices. I must admit that I really enjoyed reading solution number 1 as it's the most easiest thing to do ever. Picking up your rubbish and throwing it into the bin is such a great thing to say to us, due to the amount of pollution there is around the world.

Overall stunning work Gargee, You are amazing and I can't wait to see more incredible work from you soon.

Do you know any other ways to help protect our planet, by pollution?

    Yours Sincerely,
    Hinerangi
