Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 4 Activity 1: Campaigning for Conservation

Ni Hao bloggers,
As I've said thousands of times before, NZ is a beautiful home for beautiful animals and species. There is an organisation called The Forest and Bird, and they are one of those companies which are working hard to inform people about this animal extinction issue, and also work hard to get the numbers back up again. If you didn't know already, these kinds of companies who earn money are called campaigns.

I am going to go on the Forest and Bird website and find a campaign I am interested in. Then I am going to make a slogan for this company, imagining that the company sponsored me to make their slogan.

The world gave it, so save it

I chose this campaign because I am very fond of it. It is the native wildlife campaign on the website of the Forest and Bird. People have to put more attention on the real world, rather than gadgets and social media platforms which distract us from the real environment we're in.

I hope you've enjoyed reading my blog post about this slogan I created. Thank you for coming to my blog. Please give me feedback or if you have any questions, please ask. What slogan would you make for the native wildlife? Tell me in the comments.

Blog you later!

  1. Hi Gargee,

Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team, reading your blog from Canada. We don't have Kiwi birds here, needless to say, so it's really lovely to see a photo of your most iconic bird with your slogan.

I think your slogan is excellent!!! You may have a future in being a marketer or advertising specialist!!! I agree with you that being aware of and appreciative of the living world is more valuable than being focused on technological gadgets. You made a very good argument there!!

My husband and I are teachers and my husband's teaching subject is Outdoor Education, so you can see where our interest lies. We love being in the out-of-doors, particularly in the wilder parts of Canada, where we can canoe and camp and be in the midst of the beauty and peacefulness that natural surroundings provide. Do you go camping or tramping? Where are your favourite 'get away' spots?

I hope you're having a really lovely summer holiday and that you're enjoying this program. You've worked very hard at it, for sure. Well done!

    Cheers,

    Leslie

  2. Hello Gargee,

My name is Davarni and I am quite familiar with you commenting on my blog.
I love your slogan, it means so much in such little words. I guess that's the power of slogans! I agree that people should put more attention to the world, before something big happens.

    Keep it up,
    Davarni

  3. Hello Gargee,

It's me Araura from Wesley Primary School.

I love your slogan it has so much detail and it rhymes.

Your slogan can say alot about this bird. Does you slogan mean something like this? The world gave it so it is our jobs to save it.

Do you have a pet that is a bird?

I love how your caring a lot about the nature and all of our native birds. That's great!

Anyways keep up all the amazing work.

    Thanks
    Araura
